Description

DICLOMOL 50MG E.C. TABS 100’S are enteric-coated tablets combining the analgesic and antipyretic effects of paracetamol (acetaminophen) with the anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties of diclofenac sodium. The enteric coating protects the stomach lining by preventing early dissolution, thus reducing gastrointestinal irritation commonly associated with NSAIDs.

Active Ingredients:

• Diclofenac Sodium 50mg (enteric-coated)

• Paracetamol (Acetaminophen)

Indications:

• Relief of mild to moderate pain including musculoskeletal pain, arthritis, and post-injury or postoperative discomfort

• Treatment of inflammatory conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other rheumatic disorders

• Management of headaches, dental pain, and fever

Mechanism of Action:

• Diclofenac Sodium: Acts by selectively inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes COX-1 and COX-2, leading to decreased synthesis of prostaglandins that mediate inflammation and pain. The enteric coating ensures the drug bypasses the stomach, dissolving in the intestine to minimize gastric side effects.

• Paracetamol: Provides central analgesic and antipyretic effects by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the brain.

Dosage & Administration:

• Typically taken orally, one or two tablets every 6 to 8 hours as needed, or as prescribed by a healthcare professional

• Should be swallowed whole; do not crush or chew to preserve the enteric coating

• Recommended to take with food or milk to further reduce gastric irritation

Precautions:

• Use with caution in patients with liver, kidney, or cardiovascular diseases

• Not advised for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical consultation

• Avoid simultaneous use with other NSAIDs or paracetamol-containing products without doctor’s advice
