Ampicillin 500 mg capsules are a penicillin-class broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis.
Uses:
Commonly prescribed for respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, gastrointestinal infections, ear infections, and soft tissue or skin infections.
Dosage:
Take exactly as prescribed, usually every 6 hours. Can be taken with or without food. Complete the full course of treatment even if symptoms improve.
Precautions:
Do not use if allergic to penicillin or similar antibiotics. Inform your doctor of any kidney disorders, allergy history, or gastrointestinal conditions. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding should be under medical guidance.
