DICLO DENK TABS 50MG E.C. 100’S contain diclofenac sodium 50mg in an enteric-coated (E.C.) formulation, designed to minimize gastric irritation commonly associated with NSAIDs. Diclofenac is a potent non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and lower fever.

Indications:

• Rheumatoid arthritis

• Osteoarthritis

• Ankylosing spondylitis

• Acute musculoskeletal pain such as sprains, strains, and back pain

• Postoperative and post-traumatic pain

• Dysmenorrhea (menstrual cramps)

• Dental pain and migraines

Mechanism of Action:

Diclofenac works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, which are key in the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for pain, inflammation, and fever. The enteric coating ensures the tablet bypasses the acidic environment of the stomach, dissolving instead in the intestines, thereby reducing gastric irritation and discomfort.

Dosage & Administration:

• The typical dose for adults is 50mg two to three times daily, adjusted based on symptom severity and physician guidance.

• Tablets should be swallowed whole with water, preferably after meals, to further protect the stomach lining.

• Do not crush or chew enteric-coated tablets.

Precautions:

• Use cautiously in patients with a history of gastrointestinal ulcers, bleeding, or cardiovascular diseases.

• Avoid concurrent use with other NSAIDs or anticoagulants unless prescribed.

• Not recommended during the third trimester of pregnancy.

• Long-term use requires periodic monitoring of kidney and liver function.
