Description
ARICEPT 5MG TABS 28’S contain donepezil hydrochloride, a reversible acetylcholinesterase inhibitor used to manage symptoms of dementia associated with Alzheimer’s disease. By increasing acetylcholine levels in the brain, it helps improve cognitive function and memory.
Indications:

Mild to Moderate Alzheimer’s Disease: Improves symptoms or slows their progression.

Moderate to Severe Alzheimer’s Disease: Enhances cognition and global function.
Dosage:

Starting Dose: 5 mg once daily, taken in the evening before bedtime.

Maintenance Dose: After 4–6 weeks, may be increased to 10 mg once daily if well-tolerated.

Administration: Swallow tablets whole with water; do not chew.
Side Effects:

Common: Nausea, diarrhea, insomnia, muscle cramps, fatigue, and loss of appetite.

Serious: Bradycardia, gastrointestinal bleeding, seizures, and rhabdomyolysis.
Precautions:

Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease, gastrointestinal ulcers, or seizures.
