Active Ingredient: Cephalexin Monohydrate
Class: First-generation cephalosporin antibiotic
Indications
Cephalexin is prescribed for bacterial infections such as:

Upper respiratory tract infections (e.g., tonsillitis, pharyngitis)

Otitis media (middle ear infections)

Skin and soft tissue infections

Bone and joint infections
-
Urinary tract infections (e.g., cystitis, prostatitis)

Dental infections
Dosage and Administration

Adults: Typically 250 mg to 500 mg every 6 hours. For some infections, 500 mg every 12 hours may be used. Severe infections may require doses up to 3 g to 6 g daily.

Children: 25–100 mg/kg/day divided into doses, not exceeding 4 g daily.
