JARDYMET 12.5mg/500mg Tablets – 28’s

Composition:

• Empagliflozin: 12.5 mg

• Metformin Hydrochloride: 500 mg

Indications:
JARDYMET is prescribed as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults and children aged 10 years and above with type 2 diabetes mellitus when treatment with both empagliflozin and metformin is appropriate .

Dosage and Administration:
The usual dose is one tablet taken twice daily with meals to reduce gastrointestinal discomfort. Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water .

Side Effects:
Common Side Effects:

• Nausea

• Vomiting

• Loss of appetite

• Diarrhea or stomach ache

• Passing more urine than normal

• Genital burning, redness, pain, or discharge (may indicate a yeast infection)

• Itching

• Loss of taste

• Thirst

• Fatigue

Serious Side Effects:

• Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia)

• Urinary tract infections

• Dehydration

• Lactic acidosis (a rare but serious condition)

• Genital infections

• Allergic reactions

If you experience any of these side effects, contact your healthcare provider promptly .

Precautions:

• Monitor kidney function regularly; not recommended for patients with severe kidney impairment .

• Use with caution in patients with liver disease.

• Discontinue 48 hours before and after administration of iodinated contrast agents.

• Avoid excessive alcohol consumption.

• Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding .
