PROLIZ LINEZOLID INJECTION 200MG/100ML

Product Overview:
Proliz Linezolid Injection is a sterile, ready-to-use intravenous (IV) solution containing 200 mg of linezolid per 100 mL. Linezolid is an oxazolidinone-class antibiotic effective against a range of serious Gram-positive bacterial infections, including those caused by multi-drug resistant organisms.

Indications:
Proliz is indicated for the treatment of:

• Nosocomial pneumonia caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and other susceptible organisms.
• Community-acquired pneumonia, including cases with concurrent bacteremia.
• Complicated skin and soft tissue infections, including diabetic foot infections without concomitant osteomyelitis.
• Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium infections, including cases with concurrent bacteremia.

Dosage and Administration:

• Adults and Adolescents (≥12 years):
  • IV Administration: 600 mg every 12 hours.
  • Duration: Typically 10 to 28 days, depending on the infection type and severity.
• Pediatric Patients (≤11 years):
  • IV Administration: 10 mg/kg every 8 hours.
  • Duration: Typically 10 to 28 days.

Proliz Linezolid Injection is administered by slow IV infusion over 30 minutes to 2 hours.

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to linezolid or any component of the formulation.
• Concurrent or recent (within 14 days) use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).

Precautions:

• Serotonin Syndrome: Risk increases when used with serotonergic drugs. Monitor for symptoms such as agitation, hallucinations, tachycardia, and changes in blood pressure.
• Myelosuppression: Prolonged use may lead to thrombocytopenia, anemia, or leukopenia. Regular blood counts are recommended during therapy.
• Lactic Acidosis: Rare but serious side effect; discontinue if symptoms occur.

Side Effects:
Common side effects may include:

• Diarrhea
• Nausea and vomiting
• Headache
• Dizziness
• Rash
• Taste alterations
• Oral or vaginal fungal infections

Serious side effects are rare but may include:

• Severe allergic reactions (e.g., anaphylaxis)
• Liver dysfunction
• Blood disorders (e.g., neutropenia)
• Severe gastrointestinal symptoms

Storage:
Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep out of reach of children.
