ACYCLOVIR (IMAVIR) 3% Eye Ointment – Pack of 5 g

Topical antiviral used to treat acute herpetic keratitis (dendritic corneal ulcers) caused by herpes simplex virus (HSV‑1/2).

🧪 Key Features:

• Active Ingredient: Acyclovir 3% (30 mg/g)
• Formulation: Sterile ophthalmic ointment designed for eye application
• Indications: Effective against herpes simplex keratitis—promotes healing and reduces pain/swelling

💡 How It Works:

Blocks viral DNA polymerase, preventing virus replication and allowing infected cells to heal.

🕒 Dosage & Administration:

• Apply a 1 cm ribbon into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye 5 times daily (approx. every 3–4 hours while awake), continuing until healing is complete, then 3 times daily for at least 3 more days
• Use clean hands, avoid touching the tube tip to any surface, and close eyes briefly after application
