Description
AMLODIPINE (NORVA-ACCESS) 5 MG TABLETS (30’s) are a generic form of amlodipine besylate, a calcium channel blocker commonly used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) and stable angina (chest pain). Each tablet contains 5 mg of amlodipine. It works by relaxing and widening blood vessels, which improves blood flow and decreases the heart’s workload. This action helps reduce blood pressure and alleviate chest discomfort.
Indications
- Treats hypertension to lower the risk of stroke, heart attack, and kidney problems.
- Manages angina by reducing chest pain and improving exercise capacity.
Dosage & Administration
- Adults typically start with 5 mg once daily, adjustable up to 10 mg depending on response.
- Elderly patients or those with liver impairment may require a lower starting dose of 2.5 mg once daily.
Take consistently at the same time each day, with or without food.
