Description

AMLONG 5 MG TABLETS (30’s) contain amlodipine besylate, a calcium channel blocker used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and stable angina (chest pain). Each tablet contains 5 mg of amlodipine. It works by relaxing and widening blood vessels, improving blood flow and reducing the heart’s workload. This helps lower blood pressure and relieve chest pain.

Indications

• Treatment of hypertension to reduce risks of stroke, heart attack, and kidney damage.
• Management of angina by improving blood flow and reducing chest discomfort.

Dosage & Administration

• Typically started at 5 mg once daily, adjustable based on patient response.
• Lower doses may be recommended for elderly patients or those with liver impairment.

Take at the same time every day, with or without food.

Side Effects

Common side effects include:

• Swelling of ankles or feet (edema)
• Dizziness
• Flushing
• Fatigue
• Palpitations (awareness of heartbeat)

These side effects are usually mild and may improve over time. Consult your healthcare provider if symptoms persist or worsen.
