Indications:

Barole 20mg IV Injection is indicated for:

• Severe gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD): Particularly in cases with complications such as erosive esophagitis.

• Active peptic ulcer disease (PUD): Especially when associated with bleeding or other complications.

• Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: A condition characterized by excessive gastric acid production.

• Short-term treatment of erosive or ulcerative GERD: To promote healing and alleviate symptoms.

Dosage and Administration:

• Dosage: The recommended dose is 20mg administered intravenously once daily.

• Administration:

  • Reconstitution: Reconstitute the lyophilized powder with 5 mL of sterile water for injection.

  • Injection: Administer the reconstituted solution slowly over 5–15 minutes.

  • Infusion: For intravenous infusion, further dilute the reconstituted solution and administer as a short-term infusion over 15–30 minutes.

• Duration: Treatment duration varies based on the clinical condition and response to therapy. Typically, therapy is continued until the patient can transition to oral therapy.

Storage:

• Store the vial in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• After reconstitution, the solution should be used immediately. If not used immediately, store the reconstituted solution under appropriate conditions as per the manufacturer’s guidelines.

Precautions:

• Allergy: Do not use if allergic to Rabeprazole or any other components of the injection.

• Liver Impairment: Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment. Dosage adjustments may be necessary.
