Description

Benacam Tablets contain 7.5 mg of meloxicam, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that reduces pain, inflammation, and swelling. Meloxicam works by selectively inhibiting COX enzymes, which are involved in the inflammatory process. It offers effective relief for various rheumatological conditions.

Indications:

• Management of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis in adults and children aged 2 years and older.

• Relief from pain and inflammation due to musculoskeletal injuries.

Benefits:

• Alleviates joint pain, stiffness, and swelling.

• Helps maintain mobility and daily function.

• Usually well tolerated at low doses with once-daily administration.

Dosage & Administration:

• Standard dose: 7.5 mg once daily; may increase to 15 mg daily if needed—but should not exceed 15 mg/day.

• Take with or without food. If stomach upset occurs, taking it with food may help.

• Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary.

Storage:

• Store in a cool, dry place below 30 °C, away from sunlight.

• Keep the blister pack sealed and out of reach of children.

Precautions:

• Avoid use if allergic to meloxicam or other NSAIDs.

• May increase risk of heart attack, stroke, or gastrointestinal bleeding—especially with long-term use or in high doses.

Possible Side Effects:
Common:

• Stomach pain, indigestion, nausea, diarrhea, constipation

• Dizziness, headache

• Fluid retention and swelling

Serious (less common):

• Gastrointestinal bleeding or ulcers

• High blood pressure or fluid overload

• Kidney or liver dysfunction

• Severe skin reactions (rare)

• Allergic reactions
