Description
BUPIVACAINE 0.5% (BUPI HEAVY) is a spinal (intrathecal) anesthetic solution containing Bupivacaine Hydrochloride in a hyperbaric form. It is a long-acting local anesthetic commonly used for regional anesthesia during lower abdominal, pelvic, and lower limb surgeries.
Indications:

Spinal anesthesia for surgeries below the umbilical region

Cesarean section and other obstetric procedures

Urological, orthopedic, and gynecological surgical procedures requiring regional nerve block
Dosage and Administration:

To be administered intrathecally by trained medical personnel in a clinical setting

Dose varies depending on the type and duration of procedure and patient’s physical status

Aseptic precautions must be strictly followed
Side Effects:
May include low blood pressure, bradycardia, nausea, dizziness, urinary retention, or temporary back pain. In rare cases, prolonged numbness or neurological complications may occur.
Precautions:

Not for intravenous or intramuscular use

Contraindicated in patients allergic to Bupivacaine or other amide-type anesthetics

Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disorders or spinal deformities

Continuous monitoring of vital signs during administration is recommended

Store below 25°C, away from light. Keep in original packaging and out of reach of children.
