Dosage and Administration:
CEFZOLE should be administered by intramuscular (IM) or intravenous (IV) injection. Dosage depends on the type and severity of the infection, renal function, and patient age/weight. For surgical prophylaxis, administration is typically done 30 to 60 minutes before the incision. Reconstitute using appropriate diluent before use and follow aseptic techniques.
Contraindications:

Known hypersensitivity to Cefazolin, other cephalosporins, or beta-lactam antibiotics.
Precautions:
-
Use with caution in patients with renal impairment—adjust dose accordingly.
-
Monitor for signs of allergic reactions or Clostridioides difficile-associated diarrhea during treatment.
-
Prolonged use may result in superinfection with non-susceptible organisms.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include injection site reactions (pain, swelling), rash, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Rare but serious effects may include hypersensitivity reactions, including anaphylaxis.
Storage:
Store the dry powder below 25°C. Reconstituted solutions should be used promptly or stored as per institutional guidelines (usually within 24 hours if refrigerated). Keep out of reach of children.
