RIVALEXIN Cephalexin 250mg/5ml Oral Suspension (100ml)

Active Ingredient: Cephalexin Monohydrate
Class: First-generation cephalosporin antibiotic

Indications

RIVALEXIN Suspension is indicated for bacterial infections such as:

• Upper respiratory tract infections (e.g., tonsillitis, pharyngitis)

• Otitis media (middle ear infections)

• Skin and soft tissue infections

• Bone and joint infections

• Urinary tract infections

• Dental infections

Dosage and Administration

• Children: Typically dosed at 25–100 mg/kg/day divided into doses every 6 to 12 hours, not exceeding 4 grams daily.

• Adults: Usually 250 mg to 500 mg every 6 hours depending on infection severity.

Shake well before each use. Administer after meals to reduce stomach upset. Follow your healthcare provider’s instructions.

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to cephalexin or other cephalosporins

• Allergy to penicillins or other beta-lactam antibiotics

Precautions

• Inform your healthcare provider if you have a history of allergic reactions to antibiotics

• Use cautiously if you have kidney impairment; dosage adjustment may be necessary

• Consult your healthcare provider before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding

Side Effects

Common side effects include:

• Nausea and vomiting

• Diarrhea

• Stomach discomfort

• Abdominal pain

Serious but rare side effects may include:

• Severe allergic reactions (rash, itching, breathing difficulties)

• Severe diarrhea

• Jaundice (yellowing of skin or eyes)
