Overview:
Clindamycin (Myclin) 300mg capsules are a prescription antibiotic containing clindamycin, a lincosamide antibiotic effective against a broad spectrum of susceptible anaerobic and aerobic gram-positive bacteria. Manufactured by Eskayef Pharmaceuticals Ltd., these capsules are available in packs of 100.

Indications:
Clindamycin (Myclin) 300mg capsules are indicated for the treatment of serious infections caused by susceptible organisms, including:

  • Upper and lower respiratory tract infections

  • Skin and soft tissue infections

  • Bone and joint infections

  • Pelvic infections

  • Intra-abdominal infections

  • Septicemia and endocarditis

  • Dental infections

  • Alternative therapy when used in combination with quinine or amodiaquine for the treatment of multi-drug resistant Plasmodium falciparum infection

Dosage and Administration:

  • Adults: 150–300 mg every 6 hours for serious infections; up to 450 mg every 6 hours for more severe infections.

  • Administration: Swallow the capsule whole with a full glass of water. To minimize the risk of esophageal irritation, avoid lying down immediately after taking the medication.

Precautions:

  • Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to clindamycin or lincomycin.

  • Use with Caution: In patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, liver or kidney impairment, or those receiving neuromuscular blocking agents.

  • Pregnancy and Lactation: Category B. Use only if clearly needed during pregnancy; exercise caution when administered to nursing mothers.

Side Effects:
