Rosuvastatin, a statin, reduces cholesterol synthesis in the liver by inhibiting the HMG-CoA reductase enzyme. Ezetimibe complements this action by blocking the intestinal absorption of cholesterol, resulting in enhanced lipid control.
ROVISTA EZ 20/10 is prescribed for patients with primary hypercholesterolemia or mixed dyslipidemia who require intensified lipid-lowering therapy or have not achieved target cholesterol levels with statin alone.
