ZITEN-M 20/500 is a fixed-dose combination of Teneligliptin 20 mg, a DPP-4 inhibitor, and Metformin Hydrochloride 500 mg, a biguanide antidiabetic agent. It is indicated for adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus who require improved glycemic control through dual therapy.
Teneligliptin works by enhancing incretin activity, promoting insulin secretion, and reducing glucagon levels in a glucose-dependent manner. Metformin complements this action by decreasing hepatic glucose production and improving peripheral insulin sensitivity. Together, they provide comprehensive control over both fasting and postprandial blood glucose levels.
